The opening of the new wing of the School and Teacher's Day!
The sports hall and new classrooms!
The 13th of October 2017 will go down in the history of C. K. Norwid High School in Radzymin as the day the new wing of the school was opened. The extended part of the School contains modern laboratories with lab facilities, a full-size sports hall, library, locker rooms, showers and administrative rooms. The school has gained over 5,000 square meters of additional space. The investment cost over PLN 7 million. Funding received from the Physical Culture Development Fund of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism for the construction of the sports hall amounted PLN 880,000. This is undoubtedly the largest educational investment of the Wołomin Poviat and as the starost Kazimierz Rakowski assures, in the next years further renovation works are planned in the historic part of the school. Improvement of the conditions is supported by the educational achievements of the students, which is measured by the high pass rate of the matriculation examination, very good results of the gymnasium exam and the achievements of students in educational and sports competitions.
It's time to cut the ribbon ...
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was initiated by Bishop Marek Solarczyk. The ceremony was completed by MP Piotr Uściński, Starost of the Wołomin district, Kazimierz Rakowski, School Headmistress, dr Urszula Zimińska, students Oliwia Mędrzycka and Grzegorz Trzonkowski. Then the guests went to the hall, located in the historic part of the building. The ceremony started by Headmistress, Urszula Zimińska welcoming numerous guests including representatives of the Government, Parliament, local government authorities, school headmasters, academic staff, representatives of army, police and fire service, school’s friends, teachers and students. In her speech the headmistress thanked everyone who was involved in the school development. She mentioned the prizes awarded to the School, both at home and abroad. She also remembered the achievements of the students, which had been included in the impressive number of the "Talent" scholarships awarded by Starost of the Wołomin poviat. This year, 70 students were honoured with the awards, which is the highest index in comparison with all the schools in the poviat. The headmistress thanked the teachers for the effort put into their work with the students. Then bishop Marek Solarczyk spoke. He gave his best wishes to the teachers and students and congratulated on the new facility. The Bishop also stressed out that "once a student of this school, one stays attached to the school for the rest of one’s life". Secretary of State in the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, Jarosław Stawarski, and MPs Piotr Uściński, Marek Sasin and Kinga Gajewska also spoke. At the end of the official part of the ceremony, Starost Kazimierz Rakowski spoke as the host of the Wołomin Poviat. He did not hide satisfaction with the completed investment, and he wished all the best to the teachers on their fete. The Teacher's Day was also celebrated in the school. The Starost handed out prizes to outstanding teachers from the Poviat educational institutions.
„Amicus scholae Norvidi”
It is our school’s tradition to honour the people who have contributed to the School with the order of ‘Amicus scholae Norvidi’. The ‘Amicus scholae Norvidi Medal’ is the highest distinction awarded in the High School for work and merit to the facility. Based on the resolution of the Pedagogical Council on October 2, 2017, Headmaster Urszula Zimińska handed in the medals to the honored guests, school teachers and the best school athletes on behalf of the entire school community.
Youth in homage to the teachers.
A students’ performance "The Past – It Is Today Just A Little Away", directed by Miss Ewa Całka added splendor to the ceremony. The show took form of monologues interwoven with music. The performance constituted a symbolic tribute to teachers who were murdered during World War II. The students were appreciated by the audience for their professional acting skills with standing ovation. After the ceremony, the Headmistress invited the guests to visit both the historic and the new wing of the school building.
