IV District Math Contest
The 22nd January 2016y in our school in Radzymin the Maths contest named after R. Żuliński was assessed and the prizes were handed in. The contest was organized by the Wołomin district. 230 Students from 20 schools from the district took part in the contest. The aim of the contest was to make maths popular among young people.
The 1st stage of the contest was a test which was held on 12th November. The tests were checked by the school teachers. 2 best students from each school were qualified to the 2nd stage. The 2nd stage took place on 14th December in our school and there were 30 students from middle schools and 9 students from high schools.
On 22nd January all the people gathered in the assembly room listened to the lecture given by Mr. Krzysztof Bryś’s entitled: “How to play to win”. The lecture showed us: the term of a graph, we got to know what Euleras cycle is, we also got to know the famous 7- bridge problem and we also used the graph to help king Arthur organize his birthday party. All the problems that were shown in the lecture were accompanied by the examples from our everyday lives. We are convinced that even though the computer technology is expanding there are still a lot of problems that we cannot solve. The only key to solve them is finding the right algorithm.
Afterwards prizes were given to the winners and their teachers by the vice district head Mr. Adam Łossan and the principal Mrs. Urszula Zimińska. The valuable prizes were founded by the district head Mr. Kazimierz Rakowski.
Prizes:
1st place- a tablet computer
2nd place- a digital camera
3rd place- a smartphone
All the participants got a pendrive
Middle school winners:
1st place- Maciej Kraszewski, student of Władysław Podkowiński School in Mokra Wieś
2nd place- Adam Walocha, student of Middle School no. 2 named after J.Popieluszko in Ząbki
3rd place- Konrad Radzki, student of Middle School named after Jan Paweł II in Duczki
High School winners:
1st place-Jowita Kaczyńska, student of high school named after W. Nałkowski in Wołomin
2nd place-Daniel Sadlik, student of President Ignacy Mościcki High School in Zielonka
3rd place-Martyna Budek, student of C.K. Norwid High School in Radzymin
